About The Boys’ Brigade

The Boys’ Brigade is a Christian Youth Organisation with over half a million members world wide. Our objective is “The advancement of Christ’s kingdom among boys and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-Respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness.”

The 25th Edinburgh company was formed in 1888 as the 1st Portobello company. We are still going strong over 125 years later, offering a variety of activities every week, including the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme for senior boys. We also take our Junior and Company Sections on camps, to locations within the UK and, with our friends at the FDF, in Denmark.
